144 kids per hour reading for 40 minutes

12 x 144 in a day, from just 144 books in 12 venues. its not a library, so laughing is encouraged. its not school, its with parents, well half of the parents. It is fee based, to pay for the books, a facilitator/organiser and to see fund the next 12 bas, locally or across the world :-)

Here is a picture or two from yesterday, the most recent pilot, building and refining the offer. Looking to run sessions in Mariahilf on Monday and Tuesday afternoons for 3 weeks in March

update: Proposing - Micro Libraries in Kakuma Camp based at a Micro School and a wifi Happiness Hotspot. Each Micro School has a Micro Co-Working space and Micro MakerSpace attached , where Alumni can enter apprentice programs and learn a trade or profession. There is perhaps later a nursery for babies, and a locally built playground for kids.

re: The Box of Books containing 10 Bags of Books. Is it possible to bring 10,000 books to Kakuma Camp, 10 to each of the 1,000 Micro Libraries? Assuming 5 dollars per book, thats 50,000 dollars for 10,000 books. Each Micro Library offers 1 hour per day with books for 100 kids, so reaching 100,000 kids.

Perhaps possible to get 100 books today from the library in Kakuma that limits entrance to 20 kids, and reach another 1,000 kids tomorrow!
