Goal / to get 6 Native German Speaking people in Vienna together to offer their language skills to 6 Migrants in a "Facilitated Speed TandemTalking" event in a cafe environment in Hietzing in November.
The teaching methodology is supported by an app. Six migrants move down the line, like speed dating, getting the chance in ten minutes to practice their new found skills, and to record new phrases for future practice at home. Join in now to hear abut new cultures, meet new people, and contribute in your community... Note:- The Austrians are not teachers, merely speakers. Its a free session, aimed to also include some migrants seeking refuge in Austria
Migrants often arrive with no language skills and many find it hard to find local friends to practice with. You dont meet locals on a normal language course, Here you do. The larger goal is to use underutilised native speakers in a friendly and fun format supported by a new world class app, the short goal is to find 6 Native speakers to join a session in November ( date mutually agreeable ) at a cafe in Hietzing with 6 migrants. If we learn thru play, perhaps we should play more. ( Cafe has space for more than 6, and if more join, we can expand the seating and work to get a matching number of migrants to join - migrants being a balanced mix of UN type workers, students, significant others etc )
